These handmade, pure cowhide shoulder bags are simple in design but practical and strong.
We repair five to ten handbags every week and it’s always the same problems. Broken straps, broken catches and broken zips.
The answer to this, (as always) is really simple. Extra thick carrying strap, a leather fastening system instead of a metal catch and no zips. Also no lining to tear and no compartments for the stitching to unravel. What you get for a surprisingly small amount of money is a handbag made from 2.5mm thick cowhide with a 3mm. thick shoulder strap. The bag is completely hand stitched with waxed cotton that is approx. five times thicker than machine cotton used on most bags. The pattern is embossed onto the bag with small individual tools for a sharp deep impression. After the bag has been dyed all the embossing is hand painted and then highlighted to show up the detail.
This bag measures 22cm wide by 18cm high and 6cm deep, and has an adjustable length shoulder strap. The belts are made in the same way and come with an elegant brass coloured buckle.

If you are buying a bag and belt, you have to take a measurement to determine what length your new belt will be. Whether your old belt is a bit too long, or a bit too short, take a measurement from the tip of the buckle to the hole that you are using now. This measurement lets me calculate the correct length of the new belt, that is to say, that when you wear your new belt you should be using the centre hole of 5 holes.(as diagram below). You can take this measurements in cm or inches as you will be typing this figure in later. Do not go by the number on the back of your old belt, manufacturers sizes vary. Even waist measurements of jeans or trousers can be inaccurate. The best way to measure for your new belt is to measure your old belt. Remember, measure from the tip of the buckle to the hole that you use now.
